Gill Hunt

I ‘ve been acting as an independent expert witness in disputes for over 20 years. Alongside my expert practice I keep my technical skills and industry experience up to date through a range of projects, most recently by developing and publishing several Apps for archaeologists.

Live experience of project management, procurement, development, testing and support, combined with my previous career with major IT vendors, means I can see the ‘IT problem’ from both client and supplier points of view.

As an expert advisor or expert witness I can give you an objective view of the issues that have caused a project or contract to fail and present them in clear, accessible terms so that you and your legal team can concentrate on looking for the best commercial options in a dispute. I have experience in the Technology and Construction Court, Court of Session and arbitrations on disputes from £100k to £500M, including project based disputes and those involving intellectual property, copyright and patents.

I’m a member of the Academy of Experts , British Computer Society and the Society for Computers and Law

Gill is very robust and balanced in her views. We have put her in front of clients with an IT background and those without and she has adapted her style accordingly. She instills confidence and puts the client at ease

We have used Gill to support our clients as an expert on a number of major programmes and matters over the years.  We value her independence, objectivity, insight and pragmatism hugely.  Our clients feedback is always, Gill knows what she is talking about – a real, and dare I say it, rare expert.
